Boni - Composer for cinema, advertisement and video game
Born in Paris in 1998, Boni entered the Paris 13th Maurice Ravel Conservatory in 2004, where he studied music theory, counterpoint, harmony, improvisation, violin, guitar, and double bass for twelve years.

In 2013, following an internship at Hit’n’Run in composition and sound design for visual media, Boni composed the soundtrack for Mutant Stage, a short choreographic film commissioned by Dimitri Chamblas and Lafayette Anticipation - Fondation des Galeries Lafayette.

In 2017, Boni received a scholarship to study Mathematics and the Application of Technologies to Music at the Faculty of Art of McGill University in Montreal, Quebec.
In 2019, he moved to the United States, supported by a scholarship for a Music and Mathematics program at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles).

In 2021, Boni graduated with honours from the Faculty of Art of McGill University.

Between 2015 and 2023, Boni created scores for various advertising campaigns (including Sia Home, L'Oréal, and NDL Design Studio) and produced radio jingles such as for Radio France.

In 2023, Boni collaborated with artist François Vogel on digital distortion video projects. That same year, Les Utopiales festival in France commissioned Boni to compose the music and create the soundtrack for an immersive virtual reality experience by Elene Usdin and Pierre Friquet. He also composed the soundtrack for the documentary Les Architectes de l’Espace by Élodie Fertil, produced by Mediawan.

Between 2015 and 2020, Boni produced soundtracks for several short films, including Natural Vignettes and En Rose by Benjie Higgins, as well as artistic performance videos such as The Lampads and Les Impatiences by Elene Usdin. He also provided the soundtrack for the claymation work The Simpson Couch Gag by visual artist Lee Hardcastle.

Boni has a strong interest in the design and creation of musical instruments that integrate microprocessors and live performance, a project he pursued in 2018 at the SAT (Society of Technological Arts) in Montreal.

His music bridges classical traditions, sound technological innovations, and contemporary music, themes he explores through several albums under the alias Boni.

In 2022, Boni signed a writing and illustration project with Les Éditions Sarbacane titled Detroit Roma, in collaboration with author Elene Usdin. The script was partially developed during a short residency in the spring of 2023 at the Académie de France in Rome – La Villa Medicis. This first graphic novel will be accompanied by a musical album composed, recorded, and mixed by Boni.

In 2024, Boni participated in the TAICCA writing residency in Taiwan, in collaboration with the CENTQUATRE-PARIS. He started working on Judy, an immersive VR game that blends art, sound, and storytelling to explore identity, memory, and cultural trauma through the synesthetic journey of a young queer Indigenous woman navigating surreal, interactive environments.

In 2025 Boni will release a modern adaptation of Mozart's requiem as part as the exhibition "Les Entrailles" in Paris.
